Differences Between HRM and Personnel Managment


I am hoping to enrol to study the MSc in HR in September, I have been asked to submit a 1500 word assignement on reviewing my organisations practices and analysing if they can more clearly be catogorised as Personnel or HR management.

Any advise of what books/journals I can research that could give me starting points for arguments would be fantastic. Any advice in how to start the report would also be very much appreocated.
