Thank You

Hi Everyone,

I start my maternity leave tomorrow and before I go I just wanted to say a big thank you to the communities forum and contributors.  I started a stand alone HR Advisor role about 18 months ago and not sure I could have survived without the forum your advice!

See you in 9 months! Although I hope to be popping on here every now and then...maybe during the sleepless nights ;-)

Good luck with the impending birth. Hope everything goes well.
  • Hi Sally, thank you so much for your lovely message.  :-)  Trust all goes well for you and the baby and that parenthood brings you and yours everything you hope for.

Hi Sally, thanks for the sentiments. Good luck with the new baby - and yes, do keep in touch with the communities to keep your "work brain" in gear. We'll be looking out for those 2:00 am posts :)

Good luck with it all, Sally - I can recommend checking out your local NCT branch for support and activities while you're on maternity leave - I found the NCT an absolute life saver to get me out of the house.  I even ended up volunteering for them (and still do, four years later) and extending my skill set while on mat leave.

And do pop back to the Communities, it's a great way to keep in touch with HR and just maintain that adult contact.  I used to set up my laptop on the arm of my chair when I settled down to feed Dafydd and I would tap away one handed while he fed and then slept. *grin*

  • Thanks everyone - it's my second so I kind of know what's coming..

Yes Jackie I have met some great friends though my local NC, not sure I could have survived those first few months without them!

I can recommend checking in with the forums now and then to keep one's hand in when it comes to emerging HR trends and legislation.  It's a great way to see what's current yet never feels too much like "work".

    Sally... thank *you*.

Fingers X'd, we may have a much improved community (from a tech point of view) when you return... but yes, do 'pop in' now and then :)

    with very best wishes,

    Steve
