Creating a HR 'hub' in the NHS

I'm currently looking into the feasibility/practicability of creating a HR hub within the Trust that I work in e.g. moving away from a team providing HR support to particular areas and pooling the resource.

Has anyone got any experiences of doing this e.g. transition phase, implementation, pro's/con's etc?

I would be really interested to hear, many thanks.

    We have created a one point access scheme at our organisation, NHS Blood and Transplant where staff and managers can ring one number for help and advice on HR issues.   It has been live for six months now and we would be happy to share our journey to this point.
