Free: Help shape the future of the profession, 15:15-16:00, Exchange 11 (first floor), Manchester Central

Over the last two years, we've worked with our members, the wider HR community and business leaders to define principles which can guide good practice as the world of work evolves. Join us at this small focus group and be among the first to stress test those principles. We'll be asking you to think about how you'd apply them to different situations and what your challenges will be in practice.

Free Networking Drinks, 17:00 - 18:30, Exhibition Hall, Manchester Central

Network and discuss the topics you’ve heard during the day over a complimentary drink exclusively for conference delegates, speakers and suppliers.

Free: Performance-related Play, Epernay Manchester, 18:45–20:00

We’d like to invite you for a drink to unwind after the day (first one’s on us) and have some fun exploring performance management.  Our previous evening events have been fully subscribed, and they’re great fun, offering a chance to meet and relax in an informal, creative environment.  As always, it’ll be as good as you make it! May contain improv.

Wednesday Night Social, Ft. DJ Tim Scott, FCIPD. 20:30 'til late, Tribeca Bar, 50 Sackville Street, Manchester, M1 3WF

Not content with being a Chartered FCIPD HR generalist, Tim Scott also spent many years as a club DJ and music producer, supporting legendary DJs like Norman Jay MBE and Gilles Peterson. So, in a first for the CIPD's Annual Conference, he is ideally qualified to put together a mix of soulful and funky classics to get HR and L&D folk moving on a Manchester dance floor.

Thursday 10 November

Free: HR Unscrambled breakfast briefing, 08:00-09:15, Charter Foyer

One of our most loved fringe events - we invite you to enjoy breakfast and lightly facilitated conversations with your colleagues in the HR community. Come along for this popular session and help set the agenda for the future of HR.  This year we’re exploring HR’s role in working across organisational siloes and – we’ll be doing this using a positively focused method known as appreciative inquiry.

Breakfast session: Managing Cancer in the Workplace, 07:45 (for an 08:00 start), Manchester Central
