Welcome from the Chair
The branch organises a number of events throughout the year to build our professional networks and to promote professional development. All our events are advertised on the Events page.
We have various ways of keeping in touch with members. A quarterly E- Newsletter features upcoming events at a local, regional and national level, and highlights recent reports and other professional developments.
In addition, we email occasional Branch Updates to members who want to be on our email lists. Please note: we no longer maintain mailing lists for the Croydon Group or the Small Business Group.
We also have a Linkedin group where we post discussions and circulate information on future events.
Please do not hesitate to contact us about any professional issue and I hope to see you soon at one of our future events.
The Branch’s geographical area covers most Croydon, Sutton, Lambeth and Southwark postcode areas. Our total Branch membership stands at around 2,500 members
If you live or work in South London or Croydon, the South London Branch can offer a range of events to support your development as a member of a professional community, and to represent your views both locally and nationally
The Croydon Group meets at lunchtimes and offers regular updates on Employment Law related topics.
The Lambeth Group holds occasional evening meetings in Lambeth Town Hall which attracts many colleagues from a public sector background.
Our Small Business Group caters for members who manage small businesses or operate as freelance Consultants or Interim Managers.
We arrange Branch events with topical themes throughout the year, including lunchtime and breakfast meetings. We also hold an annual South Bank Lecture in partnership with South Bank University and the Chartered Institute of Management with a high profile speaker and networking.
The Branch is managed by a Committee of volunteers who are appointed every year at the members' Annual Meeting in May or June and meet around 5 times a year.
This year's Annual meeting will take place on Thursday 16 June 2016 and you can find further details about the meeting here. Meeting minutes from the previous year will be send to all booked delegates prior to the Annual Meeting for review.
If you would be interested in becoming a Committee member, please speak to any Committee member or contact the Chair, Sean Smythe via firstname.lastname@example.org.

By having a stronger regional presence, we are seeking to expand opportunities for members who may live and work in different areas of London and strengthen the voice and profile of CIPD in London to promote the CIPD purpose: "Better work and working lives".
Upcoming events across London are now listed on the CIPD London page - or link through to other London branch areas.
We'll also let you know about selected events across South London through our regular e-newsletters and weekly Branch updates.
