Welcome to the CIPD Mid and North Anglia Branch area.
We have around 3,000 plus members in our branch which covers a wide geographical area. In our Branch we recognise that our geography makes branch wide events impractical for most members. We operate via three Groups - Cambridgeshire, Greater Peterborough and Norfolk. It is the Groups who organise most of the events and maintain contact with members, colleges and employers in their area.
Groups have to hold an Annual Meeting under the rules of the Institute - after all, it is your subscription which pays for the activities so we need to be democratic and transparent in our work.
All Branch and Group Committee members are unpaid, acting in an honorary capacity for the benefit of CIPD members and the Institute as a whole.
Which Meetings and Events should I attend?
Your local Group runs a varied series of events through the year - you are welcome to attend these, or indeed events run by any other Group. Because of the geography, we do not run any regular Branch events. You can book on any CIPD event, not just those in your Group or Branch, if you are prepared to travel. The website has now been upgraded so you can search for events from this or any other Branch.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved at Group or Branch levels: we are always interested in hearing from people who want to contribute some time to developing the Institute (and themselves) by participating in local activities.
We can offer local advice on any matters relating to membership of the institute and events which are scheduled to take place. Further details are published in this area or contact us to find out more.
Branch Annual Meeting
The Branch Annual Meeting will be held at 18:00 on the 2 July at St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS. A report of Branch activities and the financial situation over the last 12 months will be presented along with nominations and voting for Branch positions. This will precede the 'Bullying in the Workplace' event.

Welcome to the CIPD Norfolk Group area.
The Norfolk CIPD Committee is made up of volunteers who are committed to supporting the local HR community, acting in their best interests as well as being an ambassador for the CIPD and our profession.
To meet this aim, as a committee we run approximately six events per year on a wide range of topic areas to meet the needs of the diverse HR community in which we operate. Previous events have included, CIPD Panel Debate, Evening with Peter Cheese, How Engaged is your Workforce, Coaching for Conflict and not forgetting our Annual Conference and Exhibition and Summer Social.
In addition to these events, as a committee we also operate a successful Mentoring Programme enabling those at any stage of their HR career to be supported by an HR professional outside of their organisation, covering areas such as career development, confidence, building relationships, managing upwards, membership upgrading as well as practical HR topics such as absence management, flexible working, employee engagement etc.
Whether you are new to HR, new to the area or been in the profession for some time, our events offer a great opportunity to learn, develop and engage with peers in an informal and friendly environment.
Should you have any ideas for future events or wish to provide feedback on events attended, we would be happy to hear from you. Please contact us at Norfolk@cipdbranch.co.uk.
