Welcome from the Chair
The Branch aim is to promote the CIPD, acting as a conduit between local and national forums and support members to continue their professional development journey. The Branch Committee meet bi-monthly and have an annual programme of events that enable members to access good quality and timely HR updates. These events also promote professional networking, learning from others across all sectors and generally ‘sharing the load’.
In Lincolnshire we have approximately 1400 registered members, many of whom struggle to keep pace with HR developments, their ever increasing inboxes, and time required to attend essential training. The committee would like to demonstrate that by joining together we are able to identify what members really need to address their professional challenges by sharing valuable intelligence and providing peer support. This also includes offering special interest events; timely communications; assistance with professional upgrades, and general support through branch activities.
In our inaugural year the Branch Committee has started to offer events for members to take advantage of, the latest being a ‘sell out’ Wellbeing Conference on 6 July 2016. The Petwood Hotel made exceptional hosts for this event and the excellent keynote speakers from the CIPD and the University of Lincoln set the tone for the day, which also offered the choice of 4 break-out workshops and a themed exhibition. The feedback on the day was very positive and encouraging for this to become an annual event - even the sunshine made an appearance! Up to-date we have also offered events on Employment Tribunals; Organisational Development and a membership upgrade workshop, all hosted by the LLMC at the University of Lincoln, and which have proved very popular.
The next event to be offered as part of the 2016-17 Business Plan is on Workplace Culture supported by Lynchpin Solutions on 12 October 2016 – just follow the Events section on this page for further details and booking instructions. (All members who subscribe via an email account will receive a notification automatically as the event gets put onto the booking system – please note they do sell out very fast!)
We are always pleased to hear ideas and views from HR and associated professionals to inform the branch programme via the Contact us section of this website.
We are actively looking for hosts for events across the county so if you have a suitable venue and we can attract members from across the geographical area please do get in touch with us. We would also like to use new technologies to meet as many members as possible – even if it is ‘virtually’ – so watch this space as we develop our communications and engagement strategy.
We are currently looking for members who can bring their skillsets to support the Communications & Engagement group – so please get in touch via this website if you can support us.
The next full committee meeting is on 8 November 2016 hosted by: Langleys Solicitors, Olympic House, Doddington Road, Lincoln, LN6 3SE.
Please note the amended venue and time of 18:30 – 20:30, refreshments available from 18:00.
Please use the contact us link on this website if you would like to attend so that we can ensure we cater for enough guests – first timers very welcome!
On behalf of the Committee we look forward to meeting up with you in the near future at our various events.
