Welcome from the Chair
Croeso i’n cymuned HRM - Welcome to our HRM community.
For existing and new members of our HRM community in South East Wales, a warm greeting to you all! We are pleased to introduce our new webpage which is the gateway to our programme of events and activities for the upcoming year.
It is an exciting time for us in Wales with the appointment of our former Chair Lesley Richards to the new post of Interim Head of Wales for the CIPD. This sees a commitment from CIPD to take forward some of the work the branch has been undertaking over the last few years to a new all Wales level. We are delighted to be part of this new transition and we will be keeping you in touch with the development of the Welsh agenda.
CIPD members from all branches are welcome to attend our events in Cardiff. You can view our latest events and book online on our events page using the Eventbrite system.
I look forward to seeing you at our Branch events.

South East Wales Branch is pleased to serve our 2500 members across all membership grades and professions.
Our branch is committed to:
- supporting your professional needs
- sharing knowledge
- encouraging continuing learning and development.
Branch activities complement the resources provided by CIPD nationally. We provide an important opportunity for face to face networking, which enables you to build a professional network that will assist you in your work, as well as provide professional development and enhance your career prospects.
With that in mind, our business plan has been developed to ensure that our branch activities help you make the most of your CIPD membership.
The success of our Branch is dependent upon the work of our volunteer committee, the generosity of our sponsors, and the support of our membership.
Our team is made of HR and L&D practitioners, whose combined experience covers every industry and sector of the business world, be that as an independent consultant, or working with SMEs or larger corporate organisations.
Geographically, we cover a region spanning from the Severn Bridge in the east, to Bridgend in the west, and extending north to the southern areas of Powys. As one of three branches in Wales, we work closely with colleagues in the South West Wales Branch, and the Mid and North Wales Branch.
We want to engage with you, our members, through you attending events, contributing to our newsletters, participating in our on line discussions or by joining the Branch Committee. If you would like to have a direct involvement in how the Branch is run, we have some opportunities for shadowing existing committee members or you can join us at a committee meeting so you can learn more about how we work.
Keep in touch
We have various ways of keeping in touch with members. A fortnightly e-newsletter features upcoming events at a local level and highlights recent reports and other professional developments across the Welsh business community. If you would like to contribute, please contact us.
We also have opportunities to engage with members via social media, and would encourage you to join and follow us on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
Any committee member can be contacted directly via the branch webpage. As always, the best method of communication is face-to-face, and we look forward to meeting you at our events.
