Building rapport during the interview

Last Published  01 August 2012

Any interview should allow candidates to perform at their best. This will ensure you get the most information about them and they get the best impression of you and your organisation.

This tool uses the idea of rapport as a way of encouraging candidates to be their best. Using a series of short exercises, the tool helps participants to understand the idea of rapport and how to use it effectively in interview situations. The tool is very participative and the exercises work best in small groups.

Tool aims
  • To introduce participants to the concept of rapport.
  • To help participants understand how to build rapport in a typical interview.
