Ascertaining personal values

Our values determine our beliefs about how we want our world to be, and our beliefs drive our behaviour and responses to situations. For managers, it is important to have an understanding of one's own values and how these may conflict with the personal values of employees. Where values are aligned, there is likely to be a happy working relationship; however a difficult situation is likely to arise where there is a conflict of values between manager and employee.
