There is an increasing amount of evidence to suggest that values-based leadership is among the most effective type of leadership processes, particularly at the strategic level. In this tool we show how the concept of values relates to identity, beliefs and the other aspects of an individual strategic leader's make-up. The exercise is appropriate for all levels of leader, particularly at the strategic level, and is relevant for all sizes of organisation, from small to large.
