This tool is designed to help participants to think about what they actually do in comparison to their perception of how they use their time. We tend to remember clearly those jobs or activities that have either been particularly memorable or those that have taken a large chunk of our time in one go. However, many people underestimate all the time spent on ad hoc items, unexpected items or less memorable tasks.
Once participants have a realistic insight into how they actually spend their time, they can make effective judgements about how well they use their time. After completing this tool, participants should have a good idea of where their time goes.
