A coach must feel confident when providing a coachee with feedback in either a formal or an informal capacity. The coach may be required to deliver, or reiterate, feedback from third parties. He or she may be coaching in a line-management capacity and provide day-to-day feedback as well as regular performance reviews. The coach must also be ready to feed his or her own observations and assessments back during the coaching process.
- To help participants give constructive feedback during a coaching session, recognise that feedback involves two-way discussion and provide them with the opportunity to practise their feedback skills.
