How should new managers report on their team's financial performance? This tool looks at some of the key principles of reporting on financial performance, such as targeting reports to the audience, timings of reports, reporting bad news, using templates, reporting facts and presenting analysis. It also looks at what the underlying principle should be when reporting finance, which is to make it easy for anyone collating, analysing or interpreting the reports to be able quickly to understand: what is going well; what is not going according to plan; what action is being taken to correct deviations.
