Evaluating approaches to work

Understanding that everyone has a unique approach to work is an important step in managing difficult people effectively. General styles of behaviour at work can be classed as follows: Controller, Influencer, Supporter and Analyser. A fifth style, Transformer, is able to switch between styles according to the situation. By thoroughly analysing the positive and negative aspects of each approach to work, insight will be gained into how and why employees act as they do and thus how to deal with them more effectively.

Tool aim
  • To provide an understanding of the different styles of behaviour people use at work, including the effects of the behaviours on other people.
