There are two sides to helping a new remote worker through the, sometimes alarming, first few days of their new job. First, they need to be fully aware of what the company does, what the company values, ethos and objectives are, what products or services it provides and where they, the remote worker, will personally fit in. They also need to be aware of company practices and regulations. Second, they need to be introduced to their immediate team, the way it works and what is expected of them.
Meeting their immediate team could be tacked onto the induction session at the company offices, but could also be done at one of the remote working sites.
