Being able to measure what we do is so important. And, just as importantly, as managers, the measures can be developed by his or her own team members.

This tool explains why performance measuring techniques are so important. Input-to-output ratios are a powerful way to measure a job. The tool introduces this technique by giving the example of a salesperson, before asking managers to work through the process and identify input-to-output ratios which would enable them to monitor the key aspects of their role and each of their team members' roles.
